داستان كوتاه مرد و پيله كرم ابريشم

small crack appeared on a cocoon. A man sat for hours and watched carefully the struggle of the butterfly to get out of that small crack of cocoon.

 Then the butterfly stopped striving. It seemed that she was exhausted and couldn’t go on trying. The man decided to help the poor creature. He widened the crack by scissors. The butterfly came out of cocoon easily, but her body was tiny and her wings were wrinkled.

 The ma continued watching the butterfly. He expected to see her wings become expanded to protect her body. But it didn’t happen! As a matter of fact, the butterfly had to crawl on the ground for the rest of her life, for she could never fly.

 The kind man didn’t realize that God had arranged the limitation of cocoon and also the struggle for butterfly to get out of it, so that a certain fluid could be discharged from her body to enable her to fly afterward.

 Sometimes struggling is the only thing we need to do. If God had provided us with an easy to live without any difficulties then we become paralyzed, couldn’t become strong and could not fly.

 قربة الی الله:  For the sake of closeness to God

      In the Name of God, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful.  : بسـم الله الرحمن الرحيم  

All praise to God, the Creator and Nurturer of the worlds, :  الحمد لله رب العالمين    

 الرحمن الرحيم:  Most Gracious and Merciful

 Ruler of the Day of Judgment; :  مالک يوم الدين   

 اياک نعبد:    You alone do we worship  

 و اياک نستعين:   and You alone do we ask for help,  

  to guide us in the correct and straight path (towards You), :  اهدنا الصراط المستقيم        

 صراط الذين انعمت عليهم:   the path of those, whom You have greatly blessed, 

 غيرالمغضوب عليهم:    not of those subjected to anger,

  ولا الضالين:    nor of those who deviated and strayed (into the wrong directions) !

 

(At this point, we will read another section of Quran; such as the chapter Sincerity)

about my city

Fasa

My city , Fasa , is one of the major cities in the province of Fars in Iran . It is located 1085 Kilometers south to Tehran , and 145 kilometers eastern south to Shiraz . Jahrom , Darab and Estahban are the other cities near Fasa . Its main area is mountainous. Most villages of this district are located on highlands, and only some parts of its north-western and south-eastern area are somewhat flat.

In the clay epigraph of Perspolis, the name " Shebi Ya " or " Bashi Ya " was mentoined, which is believed to be the mention of the name of Fasa. It was captured by the Muslim commander Ottoman ebn Abilass in 32 AH. The town of Fasa was the Second important towns of " Darabgerd State " during the fourth century AH, and its area was equal to area of the city of Shiraz.

 

Its climate is extremely agreeable . The heat on very hot summer days does not exceed 40 degrees centigrade nor does the cold on winter days drop below minus 3 degrees centigrade.

Spring and autumn, particularly from early February till May and then from October till ate November, are the most delightful and exhilarating seasons accompanied by the warmth and passion of its people, parks with magnificent trees, and long wide shady avenues leading from one end of the town to the other end .

It has estimated that its population is over  195,000 .

Hazrat Zaynab (SA), message bearer of Karbala

At the death of Muawiyah, Imam Hussein (AS) set out from Medina to Kufa to claim the leadership of the Muslim community. Hazrat Zaynab (SA) accompanied him, as did most of his household. After Imam Hussein’s death at the Battle of Karbala, Hazrat Zaynab (SA) was taken prisoner by the army of Yazid, Muawiyah’s son and successor. Hazrat Zaynab (SA) and the other survivors of Imam Hussein’s expedition, most of them women and children, were marched to Damascus, Yazid’s capital, where they were held prisoner. Hazrat Zaynab (SA) was in anguish due to the death of her brother Imam Hussein (AS) and her sons Aun and Muhammad.

Eventually Yazid released his captives and allowed them to return to Medina. It is said that Hazrat Zaynab (SA) did not long survive the return, and died circa 682 CE. Hazrat Zaynab (SA) is the message bearer of the martyrs in Karbala and the companion of Imam Hussein (AS) in the important rising of Ashura.

The eloquent sermon of Hazrat Zaynab (SA) in Kufa

The sermon that she delivered in Kufa is a brilliant example of how her bereaved heart impacted the people through her sermon.

The caravan of the captives, who consisted of women, children, soldiers holding spears that carried the heads of the martyrs and the army men of Ibn Ziad entered the city of Kufa. As they entered, the people were cheering and expressing their joy of victory!

But the sermon of Hazrat Zaynab (SA) was so powerful that it converted the glorious show of victory into a mournful ceremony, where the evils of the governor were revealed. The sermon caused for the delighted happy faces to sadden, and many even began to cry. As a matter of fact, her eloquent speech even boosted people’s anger toward the governor.

There are several significant points concerning her sermon. The first point is that the speaker is a captive woman who is among many victorious soldiers and higher rank army men. She has to consider that the enemy’s anger may cause another attack upon the captives. Furthermore, since the people of Kufa knew Imam Ali (AS) and his children, the sermon of Hazrat Zaynab (SA) should have been in such a manner that people could fully understand the importance of such a tragedy.

 به اطلاع کلیه دبیران محترم زبان انگلیسی می رساند که  دبیر خانه راهبردی کشوری درس زبان انگلیسی در راستای برنامه عملیاتی سالانه اقدام به برگزاری 3 مسابقه نموده است . دبیران علاقمند به شرکت در این مسابقات بایستی آثار خود را طبق زمان تعیین شده زیر به گروه آموزشی زبان انگلیسی تحویل نمایند تا پس از بررسی و انتخاب بهترین آثار آنها را به گروه زبان استان فارس ارسال شود .

۱. مسابقه مقاله نویسی                                   موضوع : Focus on Forms

در انتخاب موضوع مقاله - دبیران سعی کنند عنوان بصورت کلی ارائه دهند و با توجه به حیطه های مورد علاقه خود در حوزه یاد شده اقدام به انتخاب دقیق مقالات کنند

مقالات ترجیحا بصورت experimental باشد ودر محیط word2003 با فونت Times New Roman بصورت تایپ شده باشد و منابع به صورت APA  ذکر شود .

یک نسخه همراه با لوح فشرده حد اکثر تا تاریخ ۱ / ۱۱ / ۸۸  تحویل گردد .

 

۲. مسابقه طراحی نرم افزار آموزشی

نرم افزار بایستی در برگیرنده محتوی آموزشی کتب درسی در جهت تسهیل فرایند یادگیری باشد .

نرم افزار باید فاقد قفل نرم افزاری و کلمه عبور باشد و از لحاظ کیفیت صدا و گرافیک مناسب باشد

حداکثر تا تاریخ  ۲۰ / ۱۱ / ۸۸ تحویل گردد .

 

۳. مسابقه طراحی سوالات استاندارد کتاب زبان انگلیسی دوم دبیرستان ( کل کتاب )

در طراحی سوالات بارم بندی لحاظ شود .

سوالات از کل کتاب باشد.

حداکثر تا تاریخ ۲۰ / ۱ / ۸۹  تحویل گردد .

دبیران محترم بایستی جهت تدریس Reading  درس چهارم کتاب زبان انگلیسی دوم دبیرستان خود را آماده کنند و در مکان و برنامه زمانبندی شده معیین  که متعاقبا اعلام خواهد شد تدریس خود را ارائه دهند . در ضمن به سه نفر که تدریس برتر داشته باشند لوح تقدیر از اداره آموزش و پرورش فسا اهدا خواهد شد و نفر اول به استان جهت شرکت در جشنواره استانی و کشوری معرفی خواهد شد .

story : High and lifted up

High and Lifted Up

It was a windy day.
     The mailman barely made it to the front door. When the door opened, Mrs. Pennington said, "hello", but, before she had a real chance to say "thank you", the mail blew out of the mailman's hands, into the house and the front door slammed in his face. Mrs. Pennington ran to pick up the mail.
     "Oh my," she said.
     Tommy was watching the shutters open and then shut, open and then shut.
     "Mom," he said, "may I go outside?"
     "Be careful," she said. "It's so windy today."
     Tommy crawled down from the window-seat and ran to the door. He opened it with a bang. The wind blew fiercely and snatched the newly recovered mail from Mrs. Pennington's hands and blew it even further into the house.
     "Oh my," she said again. Tommy ran outside and the door slammed shut.
     Outside, yellow, gold, and red leaves were leaping from swaying trees, landing on the roof, jumping off the roof, and then chasing one another down the street in tiny whirlwinds of merriment.
     Tommy watched in fascination.
     "If I was a leaf, I would fly clear across the world," Tommy thought and then ran out into the yard among the swirl of colors.
     Mrs. Pennington came to the front porch.
     "Tommy, I have your jacket. Please put it on."
     However, there was no Tommy in the front yard.
     "Tommy?"
     Tommy was a leaf. He was blowing down the street with the rest of his play-mates.
     A maple leaf came close-by, touched him and moved ahead. Tommy met him shortly, brushed against him, and moved further ahead. They swirled around and around, hit cars and poles, flew up into the air and then down again.
     "This is fun," Tommy thought.
     The maple leaf blew in front of him. It was bright red with well-defined veins. The sun-light shone through it giving it a brilliance never before seen by a little boy's eyes.
     "Where do you think we are going?" Tommy asked the leaf.
     "Does it matter?" the leaf replied. "Have fun. Life is short."
     "I beg to differ," an older leaf said suddenly coming beside them. "The journey may be short, but the end is the beginning."
     Tommy pondered this the best a leaf could ponder.
     "Where do we end up?"
     "If the wind blows you in that direction," the old leaf said, "you will end up in the city dump."

 

     "I don't want that," Tommy said.
     "If you are blown in that direction, you will fly high into the air and see things that no leaf has seen before."
     "Follow me to the city dump," the maple leaf said. "Most of my friends are there."
     The wind blew Tommy and the maple leaf along. Tommy thought of his choices. He wanted to continue to play.
     "Okay," Tommy said, "I will go with you to the dump."
     The winds shifted and Tommy and the leaf were blown in the direction of the city dump.
     The old leaf didn't follow. He was blown further down the block and suddenly lifted up high into the air.
     "Hey," he called out, "the sights up here. They are spectacular. Come and see."
     Tommy and the maple leaf ignored him.
     "I see something. I see the dump." The old leaf cried out. "I see smoke. Come up here. I see fire."
     "I see nothing," the maple leaf said.
     Tommy saw the fence that surrounded the city dump. He was happy to be with his friend. They would have fun in the dump.
     Suddenly, a car pulled up. It was Tommy's mom. Mrs. Pennington wasn't about to let her little boy run into the city dump.
     "Not so fast," she said getting out of the car. "You are not allowed to play in there. Don't you see the smoke?"
     Tommy watched the maple leaf blow against the wall and struggle to get over. He ran over to get it but was unable to reach it.
     Mrs. Pennington walked over and took the leaf. She put it in her pocket.
     "There," she said, "it will be safe until we get home."
     Tommy smiled, ran to the car and got in. He rolled down the back window and looked up into the sky. He wondered where the old leaf had gone. Perhaps one day he would see what the old leaf had seen - perhaps.

story : love and time

Love and Time

 

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said,
"Richness, can you take me with you?"
Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!"
"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."
"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder,

Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who Helped me?"
"It was Time," Knowledge answered.
"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."

story : the worst day in dad's life

The worst day in Dad's life
 
A father put his three-year-old daughter to bed, told her a story and listened to her prayers, which she ended by saying.
 
"God bless Mommy, God bless daddy, and God bless grandma and good-bye grandpa."

The father asked, "Why did you say good-bye grandpa?"
 
The little girl said, "I don't know daddy, it just seemed like the right thing to do."


The next day grandpa died.

The father thought it was a strange coincidence. A few months later the father put the girl to bed and listened to her prayers, which went like this:

"God bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy and good-bye Grandma."
 
The next day the grandmother died.
 
Oh my god, thought the father, this kid is in contact with the other side.
 
Several weeks later when the girl was going to bed the dad heard her say, "God bless Mommy and good-bye daddy."
 
He practically went into shock.
 
He couldn't sleep all night and got up at the crack of dawn to go to his office.
 
He was nervous as a cat all day, had lunch sent in and watched the clock.

He figured if he could get by until midnight he would be okay.

He felt safe in the office, so instead of going home at the
end of the day he stayed there, looking at his watch and jumping at every sound. Finally, when midnight arrived, he breathed a sigh of relief and went home.

When he got home his wife said, "I've never seen you work so late, what's the matter?"

He said, "I don't want to talk about it, I've just spent the worst day of my life."
 
She said "You think you had a bad day, you'll never believe what happened HERE.
He asked "What?”
 
She said "This morning our neighbor James suddenly died."

It was two weeks before Christmas, and Mrs. Smith was very busy. She bought a lot of Christmas cards to send to her friends and to her husband's friends   , and put them on the table in the living-room .Then when her husband came home from work, she said to him, 'Here are Christmas cards for our friends, and here are some stamps, a pen and our book of addresses. Will you please write the cards while I am cooking the dinner?'

Mr. Smith did not say anything, but walked out of the living-room and went to his study. Mrs. Smith was very angry with him, but did not say anything either.

Then a minute later he came back with a box full of Christmas cards. All of them had addresses and stamps on them.

Students: Let's be fluent in English

Have you studied English for many years? Are you still afraid to speak English? Please study this and repeat it to yourself daily

Students:   Let's be fluent in English

 

I can be FLUENT in English.

My goal is to be FLUENT. My goal is not to be perfect. My goal is just to be FLUENT. I can be FLUENT and still make mistakes.

  F: First I must forget what I learned in school. I will make a fresh start. I will forget the rules of grammar. I will forget the quizzes and tests. I will forget all the times I made mistakes. I will forget what my teachers taught me. I will forget my native language. I will forget who I am. I am a new person. I am an English speaker. I will make a fresh start. I will have fun! I will focus on things that are fun and interesting. I will learn.

  L:I will learn how to learn. I will listen a lot. I will let myself go. I will listen and let the English language enter my mind. I will listen often. I will listen every day. I will listen to the same content many times. I will listen to the meaning. I will listen to hear the words and phrases. I will listen early in the morning. I will listen late at night.

U: I will understand the language. I will understand what I hear and read. If I can understand what I hear and read I will be able to speak and write. Until I can understand what I hear and read, I will not be able to speak and write well. But there is no hurry.  I will work on understanding. I will read a lot and especially, listen a lot. I want to understand the meaning of English. I do not want to understand the rules of grammar.

 E: Every day is a learning day. Every day the language is entering my brain. I enjoy reading and listening every day. I study with energy and enthusiasm. I study interesting things and enjoy the language. If I enjoy the language I will improve. Let the language enter my mind. There is no need to push myself. I am getting better every day.

 N: I will never say that I am no good. When I read and listen I will tell myself “nice going”! I will learn naturally and easily. I will be nice to myself. I will not be nervous.  If I make a mistake I will say “never mind”. If I cannot understand something I will say “never mind.” If I forget a word I will say “never mind.” If I have trouble saying what I want to say , “no problem”. I will continue.

 T: I will Trust myself. I will be confident. Confident learners improve quickly. I will treat myself with respect. I will tell myself that I am doing well. I just need to keep going, no matter what. The more I listen and read using The Linguist, the more I will understand. The more words and phrases I save the more I will know.  Soon I will be ready to speak and write well. I will take it easy. I know I will succeed. I will trust myself and trust The Linguist.

هماهنگی امتحانات زبان انگلیسی در کلیه پایه های مقطع متوسطه و پیش دانشگاهی

گروه آموزشی زبان انگلیسی  در مورد چگونگی برگزاری امتحانات پایانی نوبت اول در دیماه ۱۳۸۸پس از بحث و تبادل نظر و  توافق تمامی دبیران شرکت کننده در جلسه گروه آموزشی تاریخ ۲۹ / ۹ / ۸۸  تصمیم به برگزاری امتحانات زبان انگلیسی بصورت هماهنگ در کلیه پایه های اول - دوم و سوم متوسطه و پیش دانشگاهی در سطح شهرستان گرفته است .

لذا از کلیه دبیران زبان انگلیسی  و مدیران محترم مدارس تقاضا می شود که مراتب را به اطلاع دانش آموزان برسانند . در ضمن مدیران محترم مدارس بایستی سوالات را یک روز قبل از تاریخ امتحان از دایره امتحانات اداره آموزش وپرورش  تحویل ونسبت به تکثیر و اماده سازی ان اقدام نمایند .

What do language teachers need to keep in mind

Language teachers all over the world have some unwritten but common tips that they should keep in mind on order to have blissful and meaningful careers. Some of them are quite obvious yet reading the following tips may help teachers remember the essentials.

1         Be prepared. Always prepare yourself with the lessons you are going to teach your students. First impressions last so it is good to be prepared so that your students will feel that you and your lessons are worthy for another visit.

2        Get to know your students. It is important that you know your students so that you will be able to identify their needs in the language you are teaching them. Knowing about their interests in hobbies can help you in choosing the right approach for them in learning what you are teaching them.

3         Give attention to your students. If you pay attention to your students, they will feel that you care about them, thus, they will care about you and what you teach them too!

4         Be organized. Organize the information you have gathered about each of your students. Any kind of data you learn about them can be very helpful to you when you prepare lessons.

5         Review and appreciate your students’ progress. Reviewing and appreciating the progress made by your students will help them understand that they have really improved with the language they are learning and help them become motivated to learn more.

6         Share your culture. Sharing about your culture may spark the interest of your students especially if your native tongue is the language that they are learning. If you talk about the place where your language is spoken, you might encourage them to go to the place too and explore the language in its natural setting!

7         Use various media. Being an effective language teacher involves the teaching of the four basic language skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Don’t forget to introduce various media to encourage the development of these basic skills. Give your students copies of your texts, vocabulary lists, or audio and video files.

8         Be serious. During your first few lessons, be serious so that you will gain the respect of your students. Dress well and carry yourself well. You can be less formal as days go by but be serious during the initial stages.

9         Give your students a teaching plan for the next 3 to 5 lessons. The lesson plans will help them become aware of what to look forward to in the next lessons and may motivate them to do well.

10         Entertain your students. Entertain your students by using enjoyable and innovative ways to learn the language you are teaching. Use interactive games and exercises to help them become encouraged to learn the language!

Since some words are so rare and knowing them will not make a big difference in understanding written texts, recent research has suggested that it is better for learners at the beginning of their second language acquisition journey to focus on learning the most frequent words first and then move on to acquiring the vocabulary related to their interests and needs. The focus of lexical research on beginning ESL learners is not on average vocabulary size, but on learning the "right words".

Lexical studies suggest that some words are more frequent than others, therefore more useful for second language learners. Decades of corpus research and the advent of online text databases motivated some researchers to focus on identifying the most frequent words that are necessary to understand a written text. Francis and Kucera (1982) suggest that the 2000 most frequent word families of English make up 79.7% of the individual words in any English text, the 3000 most frequent word families represent 84%, the 4000 most frequent word families make up about 86.7%, and the 5000 most frequent word families cover 88.6%.

 همه چيز درباره تافل

 تافل يک آزمون جـامع زبان انگليسي است که بـراي ورود به بيش از 4400 کالج و دانشگاه در ايالات متحده و کانادا، و ديـگر بخشهـاي جهان، مورد نيـاز مي‌باشد. همچنيـن خارجياني که داراي مشاغل حرفه‌اي مي‌باشند، بـراي ادامه فعاليتهاي حرفه‌ايشان در آمريکا و کانادا مرتباً به يک رتبه تافل نياز دارند.

 تافل کتبي و کامپيوتري

از سال 1968 تا 1998، آزمون تافل فقط به صورت کتبي برگزار مي‌شد. شرکت کنندگان پاسخ‌هايشان را روي يک برگه با مداد علامت مي‌زدند. در سال 1998 ETC كه آزمون تافل را تهيه مي‌کند و Sylvan Learning Systems که برگزاري نسخه کامپيوتري تافل را بر عهده دارد، براي اولين بار اين آزمون را به صورت کامپيوتري عرضه کردند.

علاوه بر اين دو نسخه (کتبي و کامپيوتري)، قرار است يک آزمون کاملاً جديد نيز در آينده نزديک ارائه شود. اين آزمون جديد تفاوتهاي زيادي با دو نسخه موجود خواهد داشت. از آن جمله مي‌توان به اضافه شدن بخش «Speaking» اشاره كرد. از آنجايي که اين بخش تاکنون در تافل مورد سنجش قرار نگرفته است، مي‌توانيم انتظار تغييرات بزرگي را در ساختار اين آزمون داشته باشيم.

به خاطر سپردن لغتهای یک زبان خارجی می تواند یکی از بخشهای خسته کننده در فراگیری زبان باشد. خوشبختانه روشهای مختلفی برای سرعت بخشیدن و نیز لذت بخش کردن آن وجود دارد که در ادامه به آن می پردازیم:

  استفاده از کارتهای نمایش سریعترین روش برای مرور لغاتی است که نیاز به تکرار دارند. این روش بسیار مؤثر و در عین حال کم هزینه است.

روش کار بدین صورت است که یک دسته کارت مقوایی، در اندازه‌ای که در جیب جا شوند، تهیه می‌کنید، در یک روی آن لغت انگلیسی را می‌نویسید و در سمت دیگر کارت معنی آن را به فارسی وارد می‌کنید. همانطور که کارتها را مرور می‌کنید، لغتها را به دو دسته تقسیم می‌کنید: آنهایی که معنی آن را فوراً به خاطر می‌آورید و آنهایی که به راحتی نمی‌توانید معنی آن را به خاطر آورید. به مرور لغتهایی که هنوز به آنها تسلط پیدا نکرده‌اید آنقدر ادامه می‌دهید تا اینکه مطمئن شوید آنها را بخوبی یاد گرفته‌اید.
